New director, familiar mission

Since 1 February, Daphne Braal has been the new general director of Werkse! ‘I am honoured to work as general director of Werkse! on something that drives me: creating opportunities for people who want to, but are not always able to.’ For the past eight years, Daphne worked in Delft as chairman of the board of housing corporation Vidomes. ‘I thought it was time for a new challenge and was looking for a place where I could deal with big business and strategic issues on the one hand and make a concrete social impact for people on the other. Werkse! guides people with a distance to the labour market towards employment and development. A wonderful mission that energises me.’

Working together for opportunities

‘We guide Delft residents from welfare to work by offering them training and education and showing them the way in the labour market. We also help inclusive employers recruit, train and retain employees. A win-win! Companies can also come to us to fulfil their SROI obligation.

I like to actively seek cooperation with employers who want to do social business, in order to create more opportunities together. More and more entrepreneurs from Delft want to contribute to an inclusive labour market. They are also welcome to join the Werkwaardig business network.’
