    Introduction

Meet your counselor. Two questions are important: who are you and how can Werkse! help you?

  • Step 3

    Developing

Together with your consultant, you determine the next steps. We work on your development. This is how you will progress.

  • Step 4

    Finding work

We look for a job that suits you. With an employer in the region or perhaps first with Werkse! itself.

Rights and duties

Do you receive benefits under the Participation Act (Participatiewet)? Then it is important that you know what your rights and obligations are. Are you in doubt about what is allowed or required? Discuss it with your consultant. We will be happy to help you!

  • Doing your best

You must do your best to find work and keep your job. Even if this is work that you have to commute for, or first have to follow a course. You can discuss what you are allowed to do and what you have to do with your consultant at Werkse!

  • Let us know about any changes

If anything changes in relation to your health, family or money, or if there is a reason why you are unable (temporarily) to work, let us know immediately.

  • Attending appointments

If Werkse! invites you to an appointment, you must attend. If you are unable to attend, you must notify us at least an hour beforehand. And if you fail to attend without having notified us? Then there might be consequences for your benefits.

  • Being available

Ensure that your contact person at Werkse! can get in touch with you from Monday to Friday (inclusive).

  • Apply for leave/holiday

Are you going on leave for more than 3 days? Then you need permission from the municipality. Apply for this at least one week before your leave via the website of the municipality of Delft. You have 28 days of leave per year.

  • Reporting sick

Are you working (temporarily) to gain experience, and are you sick? Report this to your supervisor before 9am.

Frequently asked questions

A different question?

Call, send an e-mail or ask your consultant

I need a benefit. How do I arrange it?

You apply for WW benefit (WW-uitkering) from the UWV. If you are not entitled to WW, the municipality can help you with social assistance benefit.

In both situations you will need a DigiD. To apply for a DigiD you need a burgerservicenummer (BSN). You will find this number on your identity card or passport.

I do not have social assistance benefits, but I am looking for work. Can Werkse! help me?

Yes, Werkse! can help if you are a resident of Delft and if you have no benefit or other source of income yourself. Even if your WW benefit (WW-uitkering) expires within 13 weeks, we can assist you. Register at Werkse! After registering, you will receive an invitation to meet us.

I don't live in Delft. Can I go to Werkse!

Werkse! is there for residents of the municipality of Delft. In some cases, we can also help residents of the municipalities of Midden-Delfland and Rijswijk. You can enquire about this via our general telephone number: 015-2151400.

I want to work, but I can't. Why do I still have to apply to Werkse!

Everyone gets the chance to develop at Werkse! More is possible than you might think right now! We will discuss that together.

I am too old, nobody wants to hire me anymore. What can Werkse! do for me?

Werkse! can put you in touch with employers who don’t look at age, but at experience, knowledge and commitment. If you are motivated, anything is possible!

I am single with children. What can Werkse! do for me?

Werkse! has a special team for single parents. If you tell us when making an appointment that you are a single parent, we will put you in touch with a counsellor from this team. We can help you arrange childcare. Or with a job where you work during school hours.

I am going to work. How do I arrange childcare?

Are you starting work from welfare and need childcare? Werkse! will help you with this. For example by applying to the Tax Administration for a childcare allowance.

Are you going to work and will you remain on social assistance? Be careful! Childcare will only be reimbursed with a target group declaration (doelgroepverklaring). You cannot arrange this yourself, but you should do that with your counsellor. Without a target group declaration, you may have to pay unnecessary costs yourself. The counsellor determines each year whether you are entitled to a target group statement.

I have debts. Can Werkse! help me?

Report it to your counsellor at Werkse! We will then refer you to the help you need. You can also contact the Delft Financial Shop directly. You can make an appointment online or by phone: tel. 14015. If you are registered as a resident in Delft, they will be happy to help you.

I am caring for my sick parents or my sick child and cannot work. What now?

You are a carer. Discuss it with your counsellor. If you spend a lot of time providing informal care, we will take this into account. Finding and getting a job is the starting point, though.
